French Language Classes in Maryborough

Learn French in a warm and friendly atmosphere
Your teacher, Cécile Espigolé, is a certified French native trainer with over 10 years experience in adult training. The structure of the course simulates a trip to France. Each lesson deals with a different situation in which the student could be involved when visiting/moving to France or any French speaking country. Cécile will make the process fun, interesting and informative.

French Conversation Club

Le Club de conversation française welcomes all students who came to our French language classes and who can express themselves in French and who are keen to develop their conversational skills; French nationals living on the Fraser Coast with a desire to meet people who are interested in the French culture; people who have lived in France or a French speaking country and who would like to maintain their fluency in French; etc. Le Club meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month starting on 23 June 2010 from 5.30 to 7.30pm. Please please email us or contact Cécile on 0438 195 443.

There are no registrations and no fees required; just turn up at 5.30pm and buy a drink or two at the bar before joining our group.

The conversation theme will be emailed to you a few days before the meeting. Participants are most welcome to contribute to the theme prior to the meeting through suggesting, say, a press article they would like to talk about; prepare a talk on current affairs; bring some pictures from their last trip to France; bring a French song; etc. There will be no grammar, no verbs, no white board. These meetings will be 100% pure French for you to practice, in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.

Francopohone/Francophiles Gatherings

A social network was created when we started organising French Languages Classes in Maryborough. Our group comprises students learning French, keen to develop their conversational skills; French nationals living on the Fraser Coast with a desire to meet people who are interested in the French culture; Australians who have lived in France or a French speaking country and who would like to maintain their fluency in French; etc. Our group meets to celebrate French events such as Bastille Day, Chandeleur with crêpes, Epiphany with galette des rois, Christmas, for a French movie or a presentation on a French speaking country or just over a cup of tea/coffee, a glass of (French!) wine or a game of pétanque. We always find a good reason for a get together! which approximates to meeting each month.

You have worked hard learning vocabulary, grammar and verbs and doing homework in the various French classes you've been attending? Reward yourself... Take a trip to France or to a French speaking country to put into practice what you learnt during classes. Often time or other commitments prevents you from taking time out to travel overseas. Solution: "A weekend in France in Maryborough or Rainbow Beach!"

The two locations chosen for our French immersion weekends are as beautiful and inspiring as France and you will live as if you were in France: speak French (French only…), eat French food, watch French movies, play French games, etc. Live French for 48 hours and hopefully end up dreaming in French! The French immersion programme includes three workshops to study some topics in depth: Cinéma français, Chanson française and Cuisine francaise. Est-ce que cela vous intéresse ?

Objectives of the French Immersion Programme
Participants who have some good foundations in the French language can really hit the fast track when attending an immersion programme.
The benefits of this programme include:

• Gaining functional fluency in the French language (not necessary accuracy of usage though… accuracy is what we work on during the formal classes);
• Gaining confidence in French conversation and more specifically in the themes studied in depth during workshops;
• Gaining insight into the French culture;
